Old Fashioned Cornbread by Owen House
2 T. shortening, 2 t. baking powder, 1 t. salt, 1 egg, 2 c. yellow cornmeal. 1/4 c. sugar, 1/2 t. salt, 1 3/4 c. buttermilk. Put shortening in cast iron skillet in 400 degree oven. Mix cornmeal, baking powder, soda, salt and honey. add egg and buttermilk, Batter should be thick. Add heated shortening to batter and put batter into heated skillet. Baker at 400 for 25-35 minutes until brown.

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls by Gus Siebers
1/2 c. kernels or one 3.5 ounce package plain microwave popcorn, 10 oz. bag marshmallows, 1/4 c. butter, one package chocolate chips Pop your corn, scoop or pour into a big bowl so there are no kernels left. Melt butter in a large skillet on medium heat. Next add marshmallows. Stir slowly until melted, remove from heat. Fold popcorn into mixture until covered. Mix in chocolate chips. Butter hands and form into balls. Place balls onto waxed paper until set. You may insert popsicle sticks to keep hands from getting sticky when eating. Enjoy!

Poor Man Meal by Sydney Schaffer
1 lb. meat, box of mac-n-cheese, 1 can corn, 3/4 c. milk Fry up 1 lb. of ground beef, turkey, sausage, or chicken in an electric skillet. Drain grease. Boil macaroni noodles from the box in a pan on the stove. Drain water. Add macaroni noodles to the meat in the electric skillet; put the cheese in from the macaroni box. Pour in 3/4 c. 1%, 2% or skim milk. Open a can of either regular corn or cream of corn. Pour into electric skillet and mix it all together. Serves 4 people at 2 cups per serving. Makes 8 cups.
